Production Manager Packaging (40 hour)

ABOUT THE JOB 
The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring that the packaging process runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible. In doing so, this person takes into account a number of factors such as personnel, machines, materials and costs. You are in direct contact with the customer with whom, in joint consultation, you arrive at the most optimal packaging solution by using the most suitable film and box, among other things. In addition, you maintain contact with the purchasing, sales and marketing departments (internally).

As Production Manager, we see the following tasks for you:

1) Responsible for the packaging process and production planning 
Taking into account customer requirements, use of materials (foils, boxes) , production planning and describing and improving processes

Responsible for producing the right and most sustainable (consumer) packaging in the broadest sense;
- Assessing specific customer requirements for feasibility in terms of costs and packaging materials
- Advising on and having knowledge of different types of packaging materials such as film types, paper, boxes 
- Assisting and advising on packaging and label artwork
- Maintaining contact with suppliers of packaging materials and keeping abreast of developments in this field
- Good (technical) knowledge of packaging machines and being able to operate them
Managing the team
- Managing the stock of materials and raw materials
- Maintaining contact with customers 

2) Making a growth plan and implementing this plan in the department
For the purpose of DOIT ORGANIC's ambitious growth target, it is important to properly map out and optimise the processes of the packaging department. 
You are expected to be able to take initiatives in the area of investment recommendations for the purchase of new machines and lines, make cost-efficiency moves, and continuously look for improvements for the department

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We would like to meet a Production Manager (who has several years of experience in a similar position, for example as team leader, production leader or production manager). Someone who knows how to translate customer requirements into what is possible internally in our organisation. This requires (technical) experience in working with various packaging machines, experience as operator with final responsibility on the line, experience in managing people (people skills), and knowledge of the possibilities and specific properties of foils, paper and other packaging materials.

Experience in the FMCG and/or organic sector is a plus. In addition, you bring with you:
- A completed technical education at at least MBO-4/HBO level. Vapro is an advantage;
- Knowledge of Lean and/or 5S;
- Excellent communication skills at all levels and the ability to work stimulatingly in a team;
- You have good written and oral communication skills, both in Dutch and English;
- You are accurate, independent, driven, flexible, curious and proactive. 
- Analytical ability to interpret data and generate insights.
- Results-oriented to ensure tasks are completed on time.

Good planning and organisation skills to keep things running smoothly. 
- Accuracy to ensure quality in everything you do.
- You know how to set priorities and have progressive insight and a critical attitude. You are also alert to compliance with procedures and have a solution-oriented and stress-resistant attitude;
- Knowledge of ERP systems is an advantage (the organisation works with Navision);
- Knowledge of BRC and IFS certification schemes is a plus;
- Affinity with organic food products.
